A Future Without ALS.
Katie’s Cure was born from the love, strength, and community that surrounded Katie DeGregorio Silvestri, diagnosed in December 2023, at the age of 34 and just three months after the birth of her daughter, during her fight with ALS. Though Katie is no longer with us, her legacy lives on through our commitment to helping others affected by this devastating disease.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Katie’s honor to support critical medical research at the ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI). Contributions can be made to www.ALS.net or mailed to:

A new chapter is beginning at Katie’s Cure.
When Katie was diagnosed with ALS, our local Cape Cod community and Katie’s worldwide network of friends and loved ones came together to support her and her family through an incredibly difficult journey. Although Katie is no longer with us, the love and generosity that surrounded her continue to inspire us.
Now, we’re working to turn that support into something bigger. Our vision is to establish Katie’s Cure as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping individuals and families facing ALS through financial assistance grants. An ALS diagnosis can bring overwhelming emotional, physical, and financial challenges, and we believe families deserve support as they navigate them.
We’re building the foundation for this next chapter, and we can’t wait to share what’s ahead.

Katie was a devoted mother, wife, nurse practitioner, and friend whose life was defined by caring for others. After her ALS diagnosis in December 2023, her community came together to support her and her family. That extraordinary outpouring of love became the foundation of Katie’s Cure.
Katie’s story remains at the heart of everything we do. We honor her by carrying that spirit of compassion forward and working toward a future where others facing ALS can find meaningful support.
